Scrappy Saturday and Tyrone Wells

Scrappy Saturday

Hey Hey!!! Happy Saturday!  Thanks for coming by and being part of the party!  And before getting down to business, I'm still super happy from thursday night when I got to see Tyrone Wells in concert.  He is such an awesome artist, with really great music that is positive, upbeat and just all around good listening! Great songwriting, singing, and playing! I heard him for the first time probably close to 6 years ago when on my way to Art History class at WSU and I heard some music coming from the CUB (cafeteria) and slipped in real quick to see what it was.  He happened to be singing one of my favorite songs by LIVE "Lightning Crashes" (yes while my friends were listening to MMMbop by Hansen I listened to Lightening Crashes by LIVE, Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins and Zombie by Cranberries on repeat...oh 7th grade...a good year) anyways, Tyrone was just amazing...so I was inspired to skip class and listen to the rest of his set.  He's come a long way since then, but still not nearly as well known as he should be!  SO, if you like finding new good music, and you haven't listened to him yet, check him out! Or just head over to Pandora and create a Tyrone Wells station :)

Tyrone Wells was nice enough to chat and take pictures!

He is currently touring with Joe Brooks who was also really talented with a great voice

Scrappy Saturdays #7

Scrappy Saturdays
Saturday Link Party

I'm feeling scrap-dap-dappy today!  How about you?  I can't wait to see what you all have come up with this week, it is so fun each weekend to see all your creativity and glean inspiration from your posts!  Like I mentioned last week I've been spending my crafty/artsy time making things for my etsy shop (to open soon) and a fall arts & craft fair (my first one) and it's been fun trying to squeeze it in.  But as a result I miss having more create-ing projects to post.  Can't wait to see what everyone has been up to!

Featured Posts
so many great ideas!

I'm loving this copy cat 3 tiered stand by Life as a Thrifter and the arrangement she made with it.  What a great piece using candle sticks and old pie pans!

And I love how house of earnest used fabric scraps to quickly dress up this impromptu centerpiece.

I like these pumpkins made from scrap wood 2x4's however, my 4 yo daughter is peeking over my should saying "what are you looking at?" "pumpkins, aren't those cute?" she says "um, no. They are flat, they don't look like pumpkins." lol, sorry lollyjane, but I think your pumpkin trio is great! :)

Sweetwater Style linked up her sweater pillow made from a recent goodwill find.  I love the sweater pillows too and she also links for quite a few good tutorials if you are looking to make one yourself! Thanks!

OK I wasn't goiing to post this many features but it's so hard, I'm still limiting myself with 5! you guys rock!  Anyways, this sign is so sweet, I want to make one.  I just love the quote "A Father is a son's first Hero and a daughter's first Love"....precious!  Thanks Lady with the Red Rocker!

Scrappy Saturdays Week 5!

It's that time of the week again!  I can't believe how fast this week went by.  The end of this week really felt like fall I even busted out the boots!  I wore them to my first MOPS meeting this year and was super happy another mom said she was so glad I wore boots because she wanted to wear hers but wasn't sure if it was too early.  Maybe it was...I didn't even think about it other than it felt a little chilly this morning so I got excited and put them on...:P

ANYWAYS....on with the show!  Here are a few of the many great projects linked up last week!

I'm a sucker for little girl stuff, and this was a great example of using up scraps to make something great.

Here is another fun project she made with scraps...scraps of paper literally!  I love the decoupaged sheet music on the frame paired with Keep Calm and Sing...

Check out these adorable ruffly chenille onsies, scrap fabrics come in real handy for making appliques!

Scrappy Saturdays Week 4

Scrappy Saturdays Weekend Linky #4

Welcome back to scrappy saturdays hope you all had a great week!  I know mine flew by with the Monday holiday!  We have been loving this fall weather here, it's mid 70's and sunny and there have been dozens of robins, morning doves and cardinals in our backyard feasting on the berries falling off our Washington Hawthorn tree...I would sit out on my deck or lounge on the hammock all day if I could!

We had another great roundup last weekend with many awesome projects and I've been loving all the ideas but here are the top posts from last weekends linky...

Scrappy Saturdays was inspired by projects that use up fabric scraps, but it is not limited to that.  Any project you have come up with that involves scraps, upcycling, makeovers, and other frugal projects that take something old  and make it new or use things you already have on hand...
